Maharashtra signs MoU with Google to give AI training to over 4 lakh teachers

On June 19, 2026, the Maharashtra School Education Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google for Education to provide artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology training to more than 4 lakh teachers across the state. Under the programme, selected master trainers will be trained first and will then train teachers statewide through the Google AI Educator Series, over roughly 18 months.
