Anurag Jain Appointed NITI Aayog CEO for Two Years

The government appointed Anurag Jain, a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service officer and currently Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh, as the Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) said the appointment takes effect from the date he assumes charge, for a period of two years. Jain, from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has earlier served as Secretary, Road Transport & Highways and Secretary, DPIIT, and was a Joint Secretary in the PMO from 2011 to 2015. He succeeds an interim arrangement under Nidhi Chhibber, following the completion of B V R Subrahmanyam's extended tenure in February 2026.
