The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new, redesigned Aadhaar mobile app and confirmed that the older mAadhaar app will be discontinued. The new app introduces QR code-based Aadhaar sharing, face authentication, selective data sharing, biometric lock/unlock, authentication history tracking and support for multiple Aadhaar profiles on one device. It supports 13 Indian languages and aims to give users stronger privacy and control over their identity data.
